Shipping policy

This Shipping Policy describes how orders are processed and delivered for purchases made through our online store operated by Commonplace Works LLC d/b/a The Commonplace Company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Where We Ship
At this time, we ship only to addresses within the United States. We do not currently ship to U.S. territories, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, or international destinations. If this changes in the future, we will update this Policy.
2. How Orders Are Fulfilled
We work with trusted suppliers and fulfillment partners who prepare, pack, and ship your order on our behalf.
- Your order is still placed directly with The Commonplace Company, and your payment is made to us.
- Our partners handle the physical fulfillment and delivery using carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, or similar services, depending on your location and the product.
3. Processing Times
- Please allow 3–5 business days for your order to be processed and handed off to our fulfillment partners, unless a different processing time is noted on the product page.
- Orders are processed Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. holidays. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be processed on the next business day.
- During peak seasons, launches, or special promotions, processing times may be slightly longer. If we anticipate unusual delays, we will do our best to share an update on the site or in your order confirmation email.
4. Shipping Methods, Rates, and Estimates
Available shipping options and estimated delivery windows are shown at checkout and are based on your delivery address and the products in your cart.
- Shipping rates are calculated at checkout unless otherwise noted (for example, a free‑shipping promotion).
- Estimated delivery times are provided by our partners and carriers and are not guaranteed. Actual delivery times may vary due to factors outside our control (weather, carrier delays, etc.).
We do not currently offer in‑person pickup.
5. Tracking Your Order
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email, often with a tracking number and link where you can follow your package’s progress with the carrier.
- Tracking information may take 24–48 hours to update after shipment.
- If tracking shows “delivered” but you do not see your package, please first check with household members, neighbors, and your local post office or carrier before contacting us.
6. Delivery, Risk of Loss, and Delays
Delivery time depends on the shipping method selected at checkout and your delivery address. As described in our Terms of Service:
- Once an order is handed to the carrier by our fulfillment partners, title and risk of loss pass to you.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, weather, labor disputes, incorrect or incomplete addresses, or other events outside our control.
If your order is significantly delayed beyond the estimated window, please contact the carrier using your tracking information. If you still need assistance, you can reach us at hello@thecommonplaceco.com with your order number and tracking details.
7. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages
If your package is marked as delivered but you have not received it, or if your package arrives damaged:
- Document the issue (including photos of the packaging and items, if possible).
- Contact the carrier promptly to open a claim, if available under their policies.
- Email us at hello@thecommonplaceco.com with your order number, tracking number, and a description of the problem.
We will review each situation on a case‑by‑case basis with our suppliers and fulfillment partners. While we will do our best to help you resolve shipping issues, we are not responsible for packages lost, stolen, or damaged in transit by the carrier, except as required by applicable law or as otherwise stated in our Terms of Service.
8. Address Accuracy and Changes
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout.
- If you need to update your shipping address after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@thecommonplaceco.com with your order number and the correct address.
- We cannot guarantee address changes once an order has been processed by our fulfillment partners or handed to the carrier.
- We are not responsible for orders shipped to an address you provided that is incorrect, incomplete, or outdated.
