I bought this keepsake journal for my dad for Father’s Day, and it is absolutely STUNNING in person. The hardback cover feels sturdy and well-made, and the gold accents throughout the cover and pages make it feel really special and gift-worthy. It feels like a true keepsake rather than just a regular journal.My dad’s reaction made it even better. As soon as he opened it, he said, “Oh, neat! I used to have one of these as a kid.” Then he told us about a childhood journal he had called Gary’s Gripe Book, where 9-year-old him once wrote that he got fed up “when my aunt talks about ambulance crap” because his uncle had just become an EMT 😂That alone made the gift worth it because before he had even filled out a single page, it was already sparking memories and stories, which is exactly what I hoped it would do. He also flipped through it and commented that it was “massive” and would take him forever to fill out, but honestly, I think that’s one of the best things about it. There are so many prompts and pages that it feels like something he can work on slowly over time rather than rushing through. It gives plenty of room for stories, memories, wisdom, and little details that family members will treasure forever. Even my grandma chimed in that she has a similar journal she hasn’t finished yet, so hopefully my dad takes his “assignment” a little more seriously!Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s beautiful, sentimental, high-quality, and a great way to preserve family stories. Highly recommend as a Father’s Day gift or as a thoughtful gift for any parent. I’m already planning to buy the Mother’s Story version too!
THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, I made sure to get the Mother’s Story for my amazing MIL to share her life’s story with my husband, his brother, and my sister in law later in life when the time comes. Also made sure to purchase the Grandma’s Story for my Grandma along with my husband’s grandma to share both of their stories with each respective family one day. Of course I had to get the matching one for the Dads too, and cannot wait to surprise both of them for Father’s Day this year. I just know they’ll both love it, and hopefully start using it sooner than later. 🙏😊🫶 If either of us still had any grandfathers still around/alive, they’d be bought right away also. Cannot recommend these enough to anyone looking for a thoughtful, easy, and BEAUTIFUL present or gift for an anniversary, birthday, or Father’s Day especially!

Do it. I bought this a little too late but the little bit he got to was worth it. The book itself is a nice hard cover book that feels like it will last a long time.

I searched through a lot of different versions of the “dad’s story” workbooks and this is what I decided on. It seems to have more respectful and appropriate questions and prompts than others I’ve seen. When looking at others content I felt a bit embarrassed at the thought to give my father them, so I really want to say that this book was the best one I’ve come across. I felt comfortable, respectful and appreciated when I gave him this. The quality of the cover is nice and the paper was normal thickness but I wouldn’t use any pens that could leak through it.

I purchased this journal for my son. He has a 14 year old and I just thought that it would be nice for him to journal about his life, experiences, trials, ups/downs. I wish I had found this before my dad passed away. I think these books are amazing. I have the one for a mother. If I had known about it too before my mom passed. I would have also gotten her one.It asks very good questions and has loads of writing room to answer the prompts. You won't regret this purchase. It is beautifully designed too.

After getting this journal from my daughter, I loved the idea so much that I immediately bought one for my own Dad!It's such a cool and great idea! Both my Dad and I were pretty into it for a while. Fair warning, though: it is a challenging and fun product to work through!In fact, while writing this review, it inspired me to buy one for my Mom too. It’s a wonderful keepsake that gets those stories out—even if you have to wrestle them out a few questions at a time!
Got this one and the one for my mother as well . They came in the mail fairly quick and had no signs of damage whatsoever. Top notch on that for sure . The best part was when I gave it to them , they never saw it coming and kinda threw them off a bit. About a week later they said that these books really made them think about the how life fore them was about 35 years ago and viewed this as almost a puzzle in a sense. But it does also take them to very rough and intense toEs in their lives as well . So when buying this, please keep this in mind remember the rough stories that they have told you in the past . But if you want a full backstory of what your family had to endure. This is definitely the way to find all of that out HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
